We have transformed ourselves into Superheroes. We took our photographs and then used Paint to turn them into a superhero. Thanks Ms Lepou for the idea! It was really tricky. We think you will have trouble working out who some of were originally!!

Similes

We have been looking at similes and found a song by Lenka. We took the words of the song and illustrated them. Louise, Elisha and Loveday then turned the pictures into a movie. Here is the end result.

Goats or No Goats

A7 have been looking at persuasive writing.  We wrote letters to Mrs Compston about having goats on the school field.  Some people wrote for and some wrote against.  Here are some people reading their letters.  Who do you agree with?

Last week we had book week and some people dressed up as book characters.

Camera Sketching

We looked at some old cameras from a Box Brownie (60 years old) to some more recent ones. We did some sketches, trying to look at the detail.

Big Cats

The Pandas reading group read a book about big cats. They then wrote about some of the things they had learnt, and used Publisher to display their work. Here are the results.

Monarch Butterflies

In A7 we have some caterpillars, even though it is still August! We made posters giving lots of information about the Monarch Butterfly. We drew life cycles and pictures of the caterpillars. Then we put all the information into Publisher. Angad and Avantika then made a movie using all the posters. Great work A7!

Chameleons in Danger!!

Giraffes reading group read a book about chameleons and then made an information report using Publisher. They are telling people to look after chameleons as they are in danger of extinction.

Hayden created a slideshow using Windows Live Movie Maker.  He made all the titles and transitions on his own.
He then watched his movie and added the story using a microphone as the movie played.

Our Visit to the Stardome

On Tuesday we visited the Stardome. Nailah and Louise made a slideshow of our trip. They added all the transitions themselves and added captions to the pictures.

Avantika and Sawanpreet made a movie of members of A7 showing what they have learnt about the sun and the moon.

Maui and the Sun

We read the story of Maui and the Sun. Then we used Paint on the computer to make pictures to go with the story. We also drew some pictures. Rishaad and Elisha retold the story in their own words, and read the story over the pictures.

We have been learning about fire safety.
Sawanpreet and Simi made a poster about the dangers of fire using Publisher. They then read their work so we know what to do in a fire.

Pirate Adventures

We read a book called 'The Night Pirates' by Peter Harris.  It is very exciting and has some funny parts especially where the big pirate says "If you don't give me my treasure back, I'll tell my MUM!"
